SHASHI GUPTA's Team consisted of Mrs. Shashi Gupta, Alok Daga, Kautav Nandi & S. Ghose; whereas FORMIDABLES comprised of Subhash Gupta, B. Satyanarayana, Rajeshwar Tewari, Sudhir Aggarwal & Vinod Sharma.
The 2*16 boards final was reduced by 2 borads each and converted to 2*14 boards final on request of both finalist teams. In a well fought final the Sunil Machhar team beat That's IT team by a olitary 4 IMPS. The scores were 71-67 (42-35, 29-32) in favour of the Sunil Machhar team.
THAT'S IT team comprised of Mrs. Hema Deora, J.M. Shah, P. Sridhar, R. Krishnan & S. Sunderram whereas the winners MACHHAR team has Sunil Machhar, Arun Bapat, V.M. Lal & R. Bhiwandikar. Congratulations to the winners.
In the Open Pairs event, the strong 130 Pairs field was reduced to 64 pairs in the 2nd elimination round. The 2nd elimination was played yesterday morning in 2 sections of 16 tables each with scrambled Mitchell movement. The 28 TOP pairs qualified for the finals, where they were joined by 4 pairs of the losing semi-finalists of the team event. The 32 Pairs played the 32-board open pair final in the afternoon with Barometer scoring.
