Contract Bridge Association or the CBA, is a national level registered body , registered under Societies Registration Act. For details and for CBA Constitution, Bylaws , Rules & Regulations , please see the corresponding sections on this site.

To start with , CBA has 15 founder members as was required by the statute ( see the list in relevant section ) , spreading over 8 states of India . All founder members are leading bridge players of the country. The membership of CBA is open to individuals and also provision has been made to invite existing State level bridge associations to affiliate to CBA. Individual membership is in 3 categories viz . a) General b) Life and c ) Patron .

CBA ' s main objective will be to bring about bridge awareness in India .

It shall have programmes for bridge education & promotion. CBA recognizes the big need to work on these aspects in order give this great mind sport its deserving status & presence in India.

CBA will be proactive in its efforts. It shall try to involve all concerned entities in the environment , to help promote bridge . This includes Government , Corporates & Media . While a special emphasis will be laid on taking the game to the young people , CBA will pay due attention to adults & seniors who are already pursuing the game. Bridge coaching & training will be important tools. Tournament bridge in India needs a few positive reforms and CBA shall do the needful.

CBA invites all bridge lovers - casual or serious , young or not so young , male or female - to join the effort in whatever way possible.
